HOUSEWORK FILMS

Housework Films, formally Eglantine Motion Picture Ltd., is a Glasgow based artist’s film production company. It was founded in 2015 by Margaret Salmon for the production of her first feature length film, Eglantine.

Our goal is to provide industry standard production support for innovative, creative filmmakers on projects which require responsive production models. Inspired by a brilliant legacy of experimental film productions in Britain and following in the footsteps of Margaret Tait’s Ancona Films, Derek Jarman Films, The GPO Film Unit, London Filmmakers Coop, and Amber Film & Photography Collective, amongst many others, Housework Films is an intersectional feminist, anti-racist, queer and class conscious company. We look to incorporate community minded practice into our work and seek to expand Glasgow’s film production capacity through employment, training and mentoring. Our goal is to encourage, foster and empower innovative feature length independent filmmaking in Scotland.

Housework films has produced over 7 films since 2015, with 2 feature length premiers at the London Film Festival, and a commission for Random Acts, Channel 4 amongst its credits. Housework Films Ltd. is led by Margaret Salmon.
