To A God Unknown is a feature length artists film commissioned by the Hunterian Art Gallery at the University of Glasgow and supported by curator Dominic Paterson. The development of the film will be shared through a solo exhibition called Assembly on display between June – Oct 2025. Depicting everyday urban characters and stories, To a God Unknown centres its narrative around a middle-aged single mother and a series of ‘hauntings’, reflecting the ways that dominant social orders dictate gendered behaviour but also how resilience and connection can be fostered through community and imagination. The film will be shot on 35mm film in various locations across Glasgow during Autumn 2025 working in collaboration with local community groups in Glasgow’s Kelvinside and Maryhill areas. The completed film will premier in Spring 2026 before touring art institutions and film festivals internationally.
